BMW X1/BMW iX1 (U11/U12). 2022 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV, 5-door LWB SUV. F/F, F/A, F/R/A, 1499 cm³ petrol, 14·2 kWh–1499 cm³ electric–petrol hybrid (I3 DOHC), 1995 cm³ diesel, 1998 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC), 64·7 kWh electric. Third-generation X1, and one of BMW’s strong sellers. Enlarged grille, more aggressive appearance than before. Squarer shape and more vertical tailgate, and overall dimensions (length, width, height) growing. Front-wheel-drive proportions more noticeable. Modern interior, with digital instrumentation screen (10·25 in) next to the 10·7 in multimedia touchscreen. Some buttons have disappeared, incorporated into the screen, including air conditioning, navigation controls, or changing driving modes, though voice commnands work. Good-quality plastics inside. Reasonable interior room for four. Very refined on the move, with a good chassis.
