Subaru Legacy (BC/BF/BJ). 1989–93 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1820, 1994, 2212 cm³ (F4 OHC), 1994 cm³ (F4 DOHC). Largest car from Subaru at the time, stylistically an evolution from boxy Leone. More conventional, trying to appeal to a wider customer base. Developed during a troubled stage at Fuji; typically reliable nevertheless. New engines débuted as part of range. Mid-term changes in 1991 with facelift; well specified Brighton 220 Touring Wagon from 1992. Some competition history as Subaru took Legacys racing. Renamed Liberty in Australia. Also badged as Isuzu Aska on the home market, and replaced in that range by a rebadged Honda Accord.
