Similar formula to the 1000 Coupé, with a facelift and the radiator moved to the front. Air vents on the bonnet recalled Lamborghini Miura. Larger engine, high compression, now developing 82 PS, and servo disc brakes all round. Good for 170 km/h, and when the horsepower was upped to 85 PS in 1970, the 1200S’s claimed top speed rose to 179 km/h. Numbers still fairly low, though up on the 1000 Coupé’s.
Marque: Simca | Predecessor: Simca 1000 Coupé | Successor: Matra–Simca Bagheera
