Pontiac Vibe. 2003–8 (prod. n/a). 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1796, 1798 cm³ (I4 DOHC). GM’s version of the Toyota Matrix (2003–4), with some different components and unique styling by John Mack. Made at NUMMI joint venture plant in California. RHD model exported to Japan as Toyota Voltz. GT had more powerful 1·8, designed by Yamaha. All-wheel-drive model proved to be underpowered. Handling was capable but not exciting, as expected from the Corolla underpinnings. Facelift for 2005 model year.
