Nissan Laurel Hardtop (C33).jpg

Nissan Laurel (C33). 1988–92 (prod. n/a). 4-door hardtop sedan. F/R, 1809 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1998 cm³ petrol, 2826 cm³ diesel (I6 OHC), 1998, 2498 cm³ (I6 DOHC). Laurel finally gets rid of its sharp angles for more contemporary lines, with a single four-door hardtop style, the last time a true, pillarless four-door hardtop would be offered anywhere. (A C32 fleet special sedan continued alongside the C33 hardtop.) No V6s this generation, only inline units. Multi-link suspension at rear, with optional four-wheel steering, in vogue in Japan at the time. Minor facelift in 1991, 2·5 added later in the year. Cumulative production reached 2 million in 1992, with a special edition (Medalist Celebration) sold in February that year. Medalist Club S Selection in May, to commemorate 40 million Nissan vehicles made.

Manufacturing location: Tochigi, Japan

Marque: Nissan | Model: Nissan Laurel | Predecessor: Nissan Laurel (C32) | Successor: Nissan Laurel (C34)
