Altima continues its sporting focus, with a unique-for-North America model on the FF-L platform (shared with the [[Nissan Teana (J31)]]), and more a sister car to the American [[Nissan Maxima (A34)|Maxima]] flagship. Better handling, but light steering; interior materials left something to be desired. Larger than predecessor, with attractive exterior styling. Mid-term facelift for 2005 model year. Not built or offered in Japan.
