Morris 1800 Mk I
From AutocadeMorris 1800 (ADO17). 1966–8 (prod. 95,271 incl. Mk II and III). 4-door saloon. F/F, 1798 cm³ (I4 OHV). Morris finally gets its version of the Landcrab, eighteen months after Austin (in March 1966)—quid pro quo because it received the 1100 first. This meant half of BMC’s dealers wedded to Morris did not have the latest model to sell for a year and a half, despite the car winning European Car of the Year at the end of 1964. Changes paralleled those of Austin 1800 Mk I, including the introduction of power steering and automatic transmission. Grille and brightwork differed up front, with prominent Morris badge.
