Slightly more angular Mirage, with usual hatchback complemented by  two-door Asti coupé, sometimes exported as Lancer. Four-door Vie Saloon now outwardly identical to [[Mitsubishi Lancer (1995–2016)|Lancer]]. Retro grille on Mirage Modaro from 1997; other mid-term changes that year. As with Lancer, good fuel economy, and safe handling. Range absorbed into Lancer, with only the [[Mitsubishi Mirage Dingo|Mirage Dingo (''q.v.'')]] carrying on the Mirage nameplate.
