Sporting version of [[Rover 400 (HH)]], emerging after the Phoenix Four took over MG [[Rover]] from [[BMW]]. Very old base now—the car could trace itself back to the [[Honda Domani (MA)]]—but, by all accounts, a good handler and a capable sports’ saloon. The four-door was always more highly regarded than the five-door, which hid its [[Honda]] origins less convincingly. A 2004 facelift made ZS even more extreme in looks, but it was short-lived, not surviving the bankruptcy of MG Rover.

Sporting version of Rover 400 (HH), emerging after the Phoenix Four took over MG Rover from BMW. Very old base now—the car could trace itself back to the Honda Domani (MA)—but, by all accounts, a good handler and a capable sports’ saloon. The four-door was always more highly regarded than the five-door, which hid its Honda origins less convincingly. A 2004 facelift made ZS even more extreme in looks, but it was short-lived, not surviving the bankruptcy of MG Rover. The name was revived in 2016 for a B-segment SUV.
