IKCO Samand. 2000 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1587, 1648 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1761 cm³ (I4 OHC). The replacement for the long-running Paykan, with the project begun by Iran Khodro (IKCO) in 1996. Peugeot 405 platform and engine, but in other respects an Iranian-developed car, and considered a “national car”. Quality said to be superior to 405. New 1­·6 engine from 2009. Called Centauro in Venezuela.
