Ford Edge (CD539N). 2014 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door, 5-seat SUV; 5-door, 7-seat SUV. F/F, F/A, 1997 cm³ diesel, 1999 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC), 2694, 3490 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Second-generation Edge goes global, including right-hand-drive markets. Wheelbase up, along with length and height, but width down by 0·25 cm. Roomier than before, with increases in passenger and cargo space. Diesel for Europe, while 2·0 EcoBoost unit has higher compression that previous unit. The 2·7 became the flagship powerplant for Edge Sport, with 315 hp. Weight reduction, while additional standard equipment, including enhanced park assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning. Quiet and comfortable, building on first generation’s qualities. Chinese model featured seven seats; while wheelbase remained the same, the rear overhang increased, and the tailgate was more upright. Exported as Endura to Australia and New Zealand, with the Edge trade mark taken by Toyota Australia. Edge ST shown at Detroit 2018, with 2·7 developing 335 bhp and 515 Nm, and four-wheel drive; the range also received a facelift.
