1971 Ford Aero.jpg

Ford Aero-Willys. 1969–73 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 2638, 3008 cm³ (6 cyl. OHV). With Ford’s takeover of Willys do Brasil, Aero was given Ford badges. Few changes other than badging, though the last Aeroes received the three-litre from the Itamaraty. With Taunus and Maverick launching in Germany and the US, the dated Aero’s days were numbered: Brazilian test groups preferred the Taunus, but Maverick’s cheaper manufacture saw that adopted as Aero’s replacement in 1973.

Manufacturing location: Sao Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil

Marque: Ford | Predecessor: Aero Willys (1963–8) | Successor: Ford Maverick (1970–9)
