Replacement for Uno in Europe showed stylish, functional design by ItalDesign for its first generation; angles replaced curves for the second generation, which was briefly badged Zastava 10 in Serbia. The third generation (progetto 199), dubbed Grande Punto originally, wound up forming (at least in styling terms) the basis of Fiat’s world car, built in Italy before a simpler progetto 310 model, using a similar bodyshell but the componentry of the older Fiat Palio appeared in Brazil and India. The 310 eventually took over from the more sophisticated 199 in numerous markets. Spun off Fiat Avventura and related to Fiat Linea.

Marque: Fiat | Predecessor: Fiat Uno
