Alfa Romeo takes control, and increases the stroke on the FNM 2000 engine. Still expensive, but models from Ford, Willys and Chrysler have overtaken the FNM. Single carburettor now, good for 125 PS, and five-speed gearbox. Front end based on the TIMB, but tidied up and updated with smaller auxiliary lights, and brakes gained servo assist, with the option of front discs. Compression reduced for 1971 due to issues over the quality of Brazilian fuel; facelifted again with a wider grille and one-piece bumper. Outdated by now, with newer Brazilian cars such as the Dodge Dart (1969–81), Chevrolet Opala, and Ford Galaxie (1967–83), pushing Alfa Romeo to develop a more modern successor.
Marque: FNM | Predecessor: Alfa Romeo 2000 (102) | Successor: Alfa Romeo 2300
