Daihatsu Copen. 2002–12 (prod. n/a). 2-door convertible, 2-door coupé–convertible. F/F, 659, 1297 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Cute, acclaimed small convertible, with name derived from Compact Open. Version with removable top deleted 2007. Turbocharged 0·7-litre four for domestic and some overseas markets, 1·3 for export only. Numerous limited editions. Very reliable, well finished and well built. More able with roof up; once down, Copen was less refined. Economical, and thanks to lightness, a good performer.
