New Ecotec engine, with VVT. Wider stance than predecessor, with cues inside and out from [[Chevrolet Camaro (2010–15)]]. More refined with a comfortable ride; well equipped, with seven-inch display for navigation and entertainment, and USB port. Chinese launch in late 2011; débuted in US in 2012 as 2013 model; turbo 1·6 (135 kW) for China. Badge-engineered as [[Holden]] Malibu for Australia and New Zealand. Facelifted in China in 2016, where it ran alongside its successor.
