'''Chevrolet Blazer/Opel Blazer. 1995–2011 (prod. n/a). 3- and 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 2198, 2405 cm³ petrol, 2507, 2796 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 2198 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 4300 cm³ (V6 OHV).''' Handsome second-generation Blazer, with powerful V6 in the US, but let down by a cheap interior. Initially quite competitive but rivals caught up—soon Blazer appeared unrefined with questionable quality, and it never had the best crash-test scores. Started with a smoother front end, the Family II 2·2 OHC and rear-wheel drive in Brazil, which proved underpowered, though it still managed to gain a following. Original 2·5 diesel also underpowered. Imported V6 eventually fitted, and four-wheel drive and a larger diesel came in 1998. New grille there in 1999. Diesel in Brazil from 2000; more substantial rebody with large grille and creased wings in 2001, when 2·4 replaced 2·2. Final facelift for Brazil in 2008. Donned [[Opel]] badges in Indonesia, outwardly similar to the American model. To 2005 model year in the US, but continued in Brazil to the end of 2011. Spawned the [[Chevrolet Trailblazer (1999–2001)]] as an upmarket line.
