Excelle nameplate began in early 2000s as Chinese version of [[Daewoo Lacetti (J241)]], with sheetmetal shared with other export models such as Chevrolet Lacetti and Holden Viva. From 2007, the Buick got a unique front end for Taiwan only, different from the model sold on the mainland. Still a fairly dull and unrefined car but at least it looks more in keeping with bigger Buicks.
