From AutocadeBestune B70. 2020 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 1498 cm³ (I4 DOHC). FAW continued to believe in the CD-segment sedan market, revealing a third-generation B70 before the year was out, and pushing for improved sales. With the Bestune marque this time in Latin script, though the Chinese name remained the same (hence the entry as a Mk III here). Much sharper lines than Mk II, possibly inspired by Cadillac, and this time on its own FMA platform, rather than a licensed Mazda one. Wheelbase at 2,800 mm, with a length of 4,810 mm and width of 1,840 mm. Hidden door handles. Full liftback, unusual for the segment in China. Length at 4·8 m, roughly the size of a Škoda Superb (2015–). Turbocharged, efficient 1·5 delivered 169 PS, with peak torque at 258 Nm, mated to seven-speed wet dual-clutch auto, or six-speed manual at the entry level. High compression, able to take cheaper 92-octane fuel. Far more refined than previous B70, with excellent sound absorption, on par with foreign models. Bestune’s holographic assistant above the dashboard also available on the B70 (with a claimed 98 per cent speech recognition rate), and it featured dual screens, one for the instrumentation and one in the centre console. Well equipped overall, and included an internet of things (IoT) ecosystem, including digital keys, in-car wifi, and wireless charging.
