Technological tour de force from Audi, challenging top BMWs and Mercedes-Benzes, though failing due to looks that resembled lesser C3 or Type 44 models (the media had tipped that it would be called Audi 300). Engine essentially two Volkswagen Golf GTI units put together. In many ways a superior car to its rivals, thanks to four-wheel drive and galvanized shell, but insufficient image. LWB from 1990.
Marque: Audi | Predecessor: Audi 200 (C3) | Successor: Audi A8 (D2)
