1976 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2000.jpg

Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV/Alfa Romeo GTV 2·0/Alfa Romeo GTV6/Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT V8. 1976–87 (prod. over 98,709). 2-door coupé. F/R, 1962 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC), 2492 cm³ (V6 DOHC), 2593 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Development of stunning Giugiaro-styled Alfetta GT, with larger engines. Mid-term refresh in 1981, upon which the Alfetta tag was dropped and the base model became the GTV 2·0. V6 from larger Alfa Romeo 6 added to range in 1981, creating GTV6. German importer ordered 20 V8 models for homologation in 1977, but with the exceptionally high price, no further models were built. Limited-production turbocharged special in 1979. Wonderful handling and well priced, though suffered from usual Italian foibles of the era: the tin worm and the ape driving position.

Manufacturing location: Milano, Italy

Marque: Alfa Romeo | Predecessor: Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT

q.v. Alfa Romeo Alfetta
