BYD e1. 2019–20 (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 32·2 kWh electric. BYD brings back, after several years’ absence, a reminder of its days as a design pirate—e1 was the EV version of its F0, a Toyota Aygo (B10) clone. Priced cheaply, with quality commensurate with the price, and still had its fans who liked the light steering and the ease of parking. Short-lived as BYD focused on its original designs.
