From AutocadeToyota Mark II (X110/GX110/JZX110). 2000–4 (prod. 186,870 sold in Japan). 4-door sedan. F/R, F/A, 2492, 2997 cm³ (I6 DOHC). Final fling for the Mark II, looking like a contemporary Camry with different proportions to suit the rear-wheel drive. On closer inspection, a shape with sharper creases, and appearing more upright. Taller body, chunky headlights and vertical taillights emphasized volume, and aided interior room. New platform, shared with the Crown. Dumpier looks hurt sales, even with George Clooney selling them in Japanese TV commercials. Mid-term changes 2002. Thirty-fifth anniversary model in 2003, with posher specification; Navigation Package also débuted for anniversary, with DVD voice navigation and TV. Production ceased 2004, though Blit wagon (q.v.) continued till 2007.
