Successful Gloria departs from its Skyline roots with more modern styling, taking inspiration from the Chevrolet Corvair (1960–4). Super 6 added in 1963 with 2·0-litre OHC (G7), the first mass-produced Japanese car with an OHC engine. First engine to surpass 100 PS, reaching 105 PS. Grand Gloria 1964, with a claimed 170 km/h. De Dion axle at rear. Plenty of options, including air conditioning. Favoured by the Japanese royal family, who had a fleet of them. Not as successful as the original Gloria. Prince and Nissan merged in 1965, and the Gloria became a Nissan, namely the Nissan Prince Gloria.
