F/F, 1602, 1751, 1829 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC). First new-generation Accord, introduced September 1981 in Japan. Bigger, plusher, more of the good qualities of original; build-quality issues gone. In-car navigation system 1981, possibly a world’s first. Mid-term facelift 1983 with slant European-style nose for hatchback, but an evolutionary one for sedan. Fuel injection May 1984. First Accord built in US from 1984. Honda Vigor also launched these years as upscale version.
