Indian-made subcompact car, distinguished by its “smiling” grille. Notchback saloon first, launched late 2010; hatchback, subtitled Livos and with smaller engine, from June 2011. Designed specifically for India as a mass-market vehicle—models such as the Corolla Altis were considered more premium there at this point—with its platform planned for other countries such as Brazil. Excellent quality from Bangalore plant, based on early reports. No-nonsense motoring, with acceptable ride and predictable handling.
Marque: Toyota
