From AutocadePontiac Grand Prix (W-body). 2004–8 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 3791 cm³ (V6 OHV), 5328 cm³ (V8 OHV). Final model to wear the Grand Prix nameplate, on a revised version of the previous platform. Sedan only this time, with either a Buick V6 (including a powerful supercharged version) or a small-block V8. Engines tended to be noisy. Good handling and large trunk, but build quality not up to class standards, while rear seat tight. Not enough cupholders, which were an omission for the US in this era. Head-up display from the start, remote start and DVD-based sat-nav from 2005. Reports of torque steer on GXP in 2006, redesigned centre console and Special Edition body package option that year. Supercharged V6 deleted after 2007. Never really up to scratch, with better cars around, including imports; G8 successor was a leap forward.
