Saab 9-2X
From AutocadeSaab 9-2X. 2004–5 (prod. 10,346). 5-door sedan. F/A, 1994 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2457 cm³ (I4 OHC). Concocted under GM, which had a 20 per cent share holding in Subaru at the time, providing Saab with a compact model to sell in North America for the 2005 and 2006 model years. Saab loyalists were hardly impressed: the changes were mostly cosmetic, with a new front and rear (designed by Michael Mauer) and instrument cluster, though there were different front seats, rear suspension arms and the Impreza WRX STi steering rack used as standard. Very safe, and a good performer, but short-lived, after GM disposed of its Subaru holding to Toyota and Fuji.
Marque: Saab
