Revision as of 04:18, 25 August 2024Innocenti Small. 1991–3 (prod. n/a). 3-door saloon, 3-door LWB saloon. F/F, 659 cm³ (I2 OHC), 993 cm³ (I3 OHC). After Fiat took over Innocenti, both the 500 and the 990 were grouped together in a single range, Small. The 500 got a larger, more reliable twin. Introduction of some Fiat parts for economies of scale. Catalytic converter from 1992. Fiat combined the two with the 500 SE, which had the 990’s larger body but the smaller engine. Some special editions to keep interest up. Production ceased on March 31, 1993, and with it car production at Lambrate, as Fiat felt the Innocentis would rival its own products, especially the Cinquecento.
