BYD Seagull. 2023 to date (prod. 200,000 to November 2023). 5-door sedan. F/F, 30·08, 38·88 kWh electric. Entry-level EV and part of BYD’s Ocean series, and a strong seller upon its introduction. Commuter car, easy to park and manœuvre, and not well suited for motorway driving, especially with battery consumption. Reasonable ride quality and handling. Light steering and brake pedal on the soft side by default, but the sport mode improved responsiveness. Simple interior design, but with hard plastics. Comfortable seating and reasonable space for passengers for the segment, but tiny boot and no storage space in centre console. Up to 405 km (CLTC).
