Zastava Jugo 45/Zastava Jugo 55/Zastava Yugo 45/Zastava Yugo 55/Zastava Koral/Zastava Tempo. 1980–2008 (prod. 794,428). 3-door saloon, 2-door convertible. F/F, 903 cm³ (I4 OHV), 1116, 1124, 1301 cm³ (I4 OHC). Abbreviated version of Fiat 128, apeing the concept of the 127, with fairly modern styling at the time. (The Fiat Panda was a contemporary.) First shown at Beograd in 1980, with series production commencing later that year. Very basic, with model number designating the PS output, and always sold on price on export. In 1983, new variants appeared: the 45L, plus the 1·1-litre (from the 128-based Zastava 101) 55 and 55L. Name changed from Jugo to Yugo, even domestically, that year, aligned with export markets. US exports of Jugo GV (Great Value) from 1985, with 400 changes to the original model to suit the market there. Base models disappeared that year. In 1986, the 45L and 55A became the 45A and 55A (for America), with US adaptations reaching the domestic market; 45E and 55E budget models soon appeared. Extra GV variants for US market in 1987, including a convertible. Fancier 45EX, 55AX and 55EX appeared in 1987 domestically, with more standard equipment. Koral name adopted in 1988, with 45, 55 and 65 versions, the last with a 1·3. Fuel-injected models from 1989, though US sales began falling. Koral Junior base models from 1990. Zastava agreed with Fiat to export the Koral under the Innocenti marque, an arrangement that continued to 1993. Renault-sourced automatic transmission from 1991. Sanctions on Yugoslavia killed exports in 1992. C and CL introduced 1994, the latter with more standard equipment. Tempo model name supplanted Koral in 1995. New fuel injection in 1998. Tempo Cial appeared 2000, replacing CL, with two-tone paint and lowered suspension. Koral In from 2002, with new bumpers, grille, rear spoiler, and revised interior; earlier model continued now as Koral. Peugeot 1124 cm³ engine introduced in 2002, 0·9 deleted. Final changes in 2007, with Fiat Seicento rear-view mirrors and digital instrumentation.
