Volvo V40. 1995–2004 (prod. 1,000,034 incl. S40). 5-door estate. F/F, 1588, 1731, 1855, 1948 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC), 1870 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. OHC). Estate version of S40, with V standing for Versatile. Comments for S40 apply here, as platform and engines are identical. Dull and less well built than Volvos further up the range. Facelift in 2001.
