Toyota Aygo X

Toyota Aygo X. 2021 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 998 cm³ (I3 DOHC). Originally shown as a concept, the production version became tamer, but the idea was the same: injecting crossover looks into an A-segment vehicle. Marketed as a crossover, the X (pronounced cross) was 11 mm taller than the regular Aygo. Triple carried over. GA-B platform, shortened from the Yaris; result is still longer than the previous Aygo. More ground clearance than before, with 17- or 18-inch wheels, which spoiled the ride. Improved interior, with touches of colour. Unrefined to drive, while gearbox made poor use of the available power. Not particularly roomy inside.
