Toyota Aygo X. 2021 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 998 cm³ (I3 DOHC). Originally shown as a concept, the production version became tamer, but the idea was the same: injecting crossover looks into an A-segment vehicle. Marketed as a crossover, the X (pronounced cross) was 11 mm taller than the regular Aygo. Triple carried over. GA-B platform, shortened from the Yaris; result is still longer than the previous Aygo. More ground clearance than before, with 17- or 18-inch wheels, which spoiled the ride. Improved interior, with touches of colour. Unrefined to drive, while gearbox made poor use of the available power. Not particularly roomy inside. No Peugeot or Citroën equivalent as Toyota gained sole control of the Kolín works.
