Talbot Sunbeam (R429). 1979–81 (prod. 200,000 approx., incl. Chrysler). 3-door saloon. F/R, 928 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC), 1295, 1598 cm³ (I4 OHV), 2172 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). Rebadged Chrysler Sunbeam. Oddly paired with Chrysler pentastar badge until 1981, when car gained a facelift with flush headlamps from the Talbot Horizon. Lotus Sunbeam with 2·2-litre four the most collectible. Long life given it was a stopgap, though originally intended replacement never came; Peugeot 104-based Talbot Samba replaced Sunbeam in 1981.

Manufacturing location: Linwood, Scotland

Marque: Chrysler | Predecessor: Chrysler Sunbeam | Successor: Talbot Samba
