Plymouth Gran Fury (M-body). 1982–9 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 3678 cm³ (6 cyl. OHV), 5210 cm³ (V8 OHV). Although sold in Canada as the Caravelle since 1978, Plymouth in the US did not get its version of the Dodge Diplomat—an upscale Volaré—till 1982. Not a full-size car, despite its name. Four-door sedan only in this market, with most going to non-civilian use. Gran Fury Salon denoted an upmarket version. The poorest seller of the three M-body ranges sold in the US these years, and hardly updated during the run. Comments for Diplomat apply.
