Nissan Altima (L34). 2018 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, F/A, 1997, 2488 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Nissan believed there was still life in D-segment sedans, with a redesign for Altima’s sixth generation. Base 2·5 in the US largely new despite the same cubic capacity as the outgoing unit (and mated to a CVT); turbo 2·0, with variable compression ratio (and therefore cubic capacity, by 27 cm³) shared with Infiniti QX50 (P71A) replaced V6. Well equipped, though driver aids at mid-level trim levels and above. Comfortable seats, decent, if not sporting, handling; interior on the dull side. Dongfeng Nissan-made models with 2·0 (117 kW base and 185 kW turbo) and CVT only.
