Middlebridge Scimitar GTE/Middlebridge Scimitar GTC. 1988–90 (prod. 77). 3-door estate, 2-door convertible. F/R, 2933 cm³ (V6 OHV). HRH Princess Anne’s favourite, reborn after Middlebridge acquired the rights to the Scimitar GTE and GTC for £400,000. Upgraded specifications, and newer 2·9 Ford V6 installed. Quick, though some aspects reflected the 21-year-old design, such as the turning circle and suspension. Troubles with other parts of the Middlebridge group, as well as lower-than-expected sales, saw production end in 1990.
