Mercury Monterey (V229). 2004–7 (prod. n/a). 5-door MPV. F/F, 4195 cm³ (V6 OHV). Disappointing minivan, replacing the Villager, returning the Monterey nameplate briefly to the market-place. A twin of the Ford Freestar, sharing all of that model’s inadequacies. The larger base engine was uneconomical and lacked power, and the Monterey was behind its rivals on ride, handling and interior design.

Manufacturing location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Marque: Mercury | Model: Mercury Monterey | Predecessor: Mercury Villager (1999–2002)
