1983 Mercury Grand Marquis.jpg

Mercury Grand Marquis. 1983–91 (prod. n/a). 2- and 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 4942 cm³ (V8 OHV). As at Ford with the LTD, Mercury’s top line was divided into two separate cars for 1983: the Marquis nameplate went on to a version of the Ford Fairmont (1978–83), a.k.a. Mercury Zephyr, so the full-size models became Grand Marquis. Changes mostly paralleled those of Ford LTD Crown Victoria, with two-door deleted after 1987 model year. Wagon called Colony Park, Mercury’s equivalent of Country Squire. Facelift in 1988.

Manufacturing locations: St Louis, Missouri, USA; Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Marque: Mercury | Model: Mercury Marquis | Predecessor: Mercury Marquis (1979–82) | Successor: Mercury Grand Marquis (1992–2011)

q.v. Mercury Marquis (1983–6)
