Maybach 62. 2002–12 (prod. 3,000 approx. incl. 57). 4-door saloon, 4-door landaulet. F/R, 5513, 5980 cm³ (V12 OHC). Flagship of revived Maybach range but, like 57, never caught on, with public perceiving it to be a lengthened and more exclusive Mercedes-Benz S-Klasse, whose production line it shared. Platform derived from W220 S-Klasse. Always outsold by rival Rolls-Royce Phantom (RR01) and Daimler’s expectations of 2,000 sales per year never materialized. Twin-turbo V12s under the bonnet, S models with even more power (612 PS versus the standard 550 PS). Despite lack of sales, actually very refined and powerful, with smooth gear changes. Emphasis on comfort as well as effortless performance.

Manufacturing location: Stuttgart, Germany

Marque: Maybach
