Lincoln Continental Mark V Cartier.jpg

Lincoln Continental Mark V. 1977–9 (prod. 228,862, incl. 16,537 Designer Series and 5,159 Diamond Jubilee). 2-door coupé. F/R, 400, 460 in³ (V8 OHV). Essentially a boxy, rebodied Mark IV, with the same running gear but less rear-seat room. More distinctive, sharing less with other Fords. Smaller standard engine (400 in³), but still poor mileage. Designer Series saw fashion designers (Bill Blass, Cartier, Givenchy, Pucci) specify trim. Diamond Jubilee Edition celebrated Ford’s 75th anniversary in 1978.

Manufacturing location: Wixom, Michigan, USA

Marque: Lincoln | Model: Lincoln Continental | Predecessor: Lincoln Continental Mark IV (1972–6) | Successor: Lincoln Continental Mark VI
