Jaguar S-type (1998–2007)

Jaguar S-type. 1998–2007 (prod. unknown). 4-door saloon. F/R, 2720 cm³ diesel, 2967 cm³ petrol (V6 DOHC), 4196 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Lincoln LS platform. Too-retro S-type tried to express 1960s’ values through its lines, such as character line dropping toward the rear. A fairly timeless look—but not what the public wanted when it had BMW’s 5-series as a modern alternative. One of the last Geoff Lawson designs before his untimely death. Not the best Jag dynamically till mid-term revisions in 2002 made it a proper sporting saloon.
