2006 Honda Accord Hybrid.jpg

Honda Inspire/Honda Accord. 2003–7 (prod. 25,000 for Hybrid, other models n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/F, 2354 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 2997 cm³ petrol, 2997 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid (V6 OHC). Latest Inspire has design cues that go back to earlier Civics, such as thick C-pillar. Exported as Accord V6 to Australasia and built as the Accord in the US, Inspire only had one engine option in Japan: the 184 kW 3·0-litre V6. (Sedan only in Japan.) US Accords had V6 electric–petrol hybrid option (from 2004), which only gave 1 mpg better mileage than petrol-only model. Four-cylinder also available in North America. Fairly plain range, typical Japanese robustness; fortunately still ahead of most competition in US (Toyota Camry, Chevrolet Malibu).

Manufacturing locations: Sayama, Japan; Marysville, Ohio, United States; Jalisco, México; Guangzhou, China; Greater Noida, India; Alor Gajah, Malaysia

Marque: Honda | Models: Honda Inspire | Predecessors: Acura TL (UA4), Honda Accord (1998–2002) | Successors: Honda Inspire (CP3), Honda Accord Coupé (2008–12)
