Late July 1970 introduction of HG saw demise of 161 in³ six for this line. Vertical bar on grille denoted HGs. Australian-built Tri-matic automatic transmission introduced. Otherwise, most changes cosmetic. Chevrolet engines for models assembled in South Africa (3·2, 3·8 and 4·1, or 194, 230 and 250 in³).
