Ford Laser/Ford Liata (BH/KJ). 1994–8 (prod. unknown). 4- and 5-door sedan, 3-door coupé. F/F, 1324 cm³ petrol, 1686 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. OHC), 1489, 1597, 1840 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). Laser grew in size as with equivalent Mazda Familia (BH), with three-door on shorter wheelbase. More sheetmetal differences this time: three-door had round headlights, not unlike contemporary Ford Taurus Mk III; Australian designers penned smart five-door sedan with some resemblance to Ghia Saguaro concept at rear. Three-door dubbed Laser Lynx in some markets; five-door dubbed Laser Liata in Australia. No Laser tag on Taiwanese models; cars were simply Ford Liata. Not built in Australia this time. Competent and dull as buyers expected from Laser, but less popular in Australia as Korean imports made inroads.

Manufacturing locations: Hiroshima, Japan; Hofu, Japan; Taiwan, Rep. of China

Marque: Ford | Model: Ford Laser | Predecessor: Ford Laser (1989–94) | Successor: Ford Laser (1998–2003)
