Ford Escort/Ford Escort Classic (CE14). 1995–2004 (prod. unknown). 3-, 4- and 5-door saloon, 5-door estate, 2-door van, 2-door convertible. F/F, 1299 cm³ (4 cyl. OHV), 1393 cm³ petrol, 1753 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. OHC), 1597, 1796, 1998 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). Final fling for Escort nameplate. Facelift of Mk VI fairly comprehensive. Design still quite conservative but with reasonable handling. Focus replaced most models in 1999, with cars renamed Escort Classic in some markets. Last European Escort built at Halewood in July 2000. Built in South America till 2004.
