Small car for developing markets, finding its greatest success in Brazil. Palio never hit it big in India and China (or, for that matter, North Korea), but managed to do well and spawn a large number of variants in the usual Fiat strongholds. Hatchbacks and station wagon under the Palio tag, three-box sedans were called Siena, Albea or Perla. When the original Palio failed in China, the tooling went to Zotye, and its long life eventually meant further spinoffs in Brazil with the Weekend and Adventure. Eventually a successor was released in 2011, but in usual Brazilian style, both first and second generations ran concurrently for some time.

Marque: Fiat | Predecessor: Fiat Elba | Successors: Fiat Weekend, Fiat Adventure, Fiat Mobi, Fiat Ottimo

q.v. Zotye Z200
