1973 Dodge Monaco Hardtop.jpg

Dodge Monaco. 1969–73 (prod. 155,211 approx.). 4-door sedan, 4-door hardtop sedan, 2-door hardtop coupé, 5-door wagon. F/R, 383, 440 in³ (V8 OHV). Dodge’s flagship line, one step up from Polara. Reasonably durable among US full-size cars, with its share of glitches, but regular improvements meant the ’73s were the most sorted of this generation. Quiet, but not as quiet as comparable rivals from GM and Ford. Soft, wallowy ride. Final two model years had hidden headlights.

Manufacturing location: Hamtramck, Michigan, USA

Marque: Dodge | Model: Dodge Monaco | Predecessor: Dodge Monaco (1965–8) | Successor: Dodge Monaco (1974–6)

q.v. Chrysler 383
