DOHC), 1991 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. OHC). Replacement for underwhelming J241 Lacetti is more stylish—design was led by Taewon Kim—and on GM’s new Delta platform, shared with the Opel Astra J. Still underwhelming, even when compared with old Astra H. Shown at Paris salon in 2008 as Chevrolet Cruze, but essentially a Daewoo product, launching in Korea first. One engine option initially, with 1·8 petrol and 2·0 diesel following. US production as Chevrolet Cruze, the second time that nameplate has been used. Sold in Australia and New Zealand as Holden Cruze; in Australia, replaced the Astra H—regarded as a retrograde step for Holden.
